Description
"I am life... I am magick..."
Update: I lightened the image a bit a lot of people were seeing it darker than intended.
This is Isis (Isset, Aset), the Egyptian Goddess of Magick and Life.
The goddess Isis was the first daughter of Geb, god of the Earth, and Nut, the goddess of the Overarching Sky. Isis was born on the first day between the first years of creation, and was adored by her human followers.
Isis was called the Mother of Life, but she was also known as the Crone of Death. Her immense powers earned her the titles of "The Giver of Life" and "Goddess of Magic". Her best known story illustrates why she is simultaneously known as a creation goddess and a goddess of destruction.
Many of her priests and priestesses officiating at her cult rituals throughout its entire history. By the Greco/Roman era, many of them were healers, and were said to have many other special powers, including dream interpretation and the ability to control the weather, which they did by braiding or not combing their hair.
